Terms of Service

By accessing or using Scripterium (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Creators retain full ownership of the stories, characters, scripts, and assets they upload ("Content"). By publishing Content on Scripterium, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your Content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.

We do not claim ownership of your work. You may remove your Content at any time by deleting your game or account, subject to the retention terms below.

You may not upload, publish, or distribute Content that:

• Is illegal under applicable law, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediately reported to authorities
• Promotes or incites violence, hatred, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
• Infringes the copyright or intellectual property rights of others. Fan-made games based on existing franchises must be non-commercial and include clear attribution
• Contains malware, phishing, or other malicious code
• Impersonates another person or entity

Violation may result in immediate content removal and account termination.

Scripterium uses a virtual currency called "Inks." The exchange rate is 1,000 Inks = $10.00 USD. Inks can be used to purchase games and asset packs on the Platform.

A platform fee of 20% is deducted from all creator sales. The remaining 80% is credited to the creator's balance. Inks purchased with real money are non-refundable once the transaction is complete, except as required by applicable consumer protection law.

Inks have no cash value and may not be transferred between accounts or exchanged for real currency by players. Only approved creators may convert earned balances to payouts per the Creator Agreement.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms, including but not limited to: fraudulent ink transactions, chargeback abuse, hacking or exploiting Platform systems, or repeated prohibited content violations.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

The Platform is provided "as-is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not liable for any user-generated content, nor for any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the Platform.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes not resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, on an individual basis (no class actions). You waive any right to a jury trial.
