Privacy Policy

When you use Scripterium, we may collect the following information:

• Account data — email address, display name, username, and (for social sign-in) your Google profile information
• IP addresses — collected at login and signup for security and fraud prevention; stored in hashed form where possible
• Play session analytics — scene labels visited, choices made, drop-off points, and session duration. This data is associated with your account if you are logged in, or stored anonymously if you are not
• Device and browser info — user-agent string, viewport size; used for debugging and compatibility
• Transaction records — Ink purchases and sales, required for financial compliance

We do not collect payment card data directly — all real-money transactions are handled by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe) under their own privacy policies.

We use collected data solely to:

• Operate and maintain your account
• Provide creators with analytics dashboards for their published games
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Improve the Platform and diagnose technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Scripterium is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover that a user under 13 has created an account, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data.

Users aged 13–17 may not access Mature-rated content. The Mature content filter is opt-in and restricted to verified adult accounts.

We comply with applicable minor protection laws including COPPA (US), and honor rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA).

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. No data is shared with ad networks.

Your account data (name, email, profile) is retained until you delete your account. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days.

Anonymized play analytics (with no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely to improve the Platform and provide historical data to creators.

Financial transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by US tax law.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct — update inaccurate information via your profile settings
• Delete — delete your account and all associated personal data from Settings → Danger Zone
• Portability — request an export of your data (contact us)
• Opt out — analytics tracking can be disabled by playing games while logged out

California, Virginia, and Texas residents may exercise additional rights under their respective state privacy laws by contacting us.
