End User License Agreement

Last updated: March 2026

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") governs your use of any game or application exported from Scripterium Studio, including HTML exports, standalone desktop builds, or any other distributed format (collectively, "Exported Games"). By playing or running an Exported Game, you agree to this EULA.

1. Scope

This EULA applies to all Exported Games produced using the Scripterium engine, regardless of how they are distributed — via the Scripterium website, third-party stores, direct download, or otherwise. It does not apply to your use of the Scripterium website itself (see our Terms of Service).

2. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this EULA, Scripterium grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play the Exported Game for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You do not acquire any ownership interest in the software or its contents.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Scripterium engine code embedded in the Exported Game
  • Extract assets — images, audio files, fonts, or other embedded resources — for use outside of the game
  • Redistribute the Exported Game or resell it without the explicit permission of the original creator
  • Modify the game files to circumvent any access controls, payment gates, or content restrictions
  • Use the game or engine for any commercial purpose without appropriate licensing from Scripterium and the creator

4. Creator Content

The story, characters, dialogue, artwork, and music within an Exported Game are the intellectual property of the original creator, not Scripterium. The creator retains all rights to their creative work. Nothing in this EULA transfers ownership of creator content to you.

Any questions about the content of a specific game should be directed to its creator.

5. As-Is Warranty Disclaimer

Exported Games are provided "as-is" without any warranties, express or implied. Scripterium and the creator make no warranties that the game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with your device.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scripterium and the game's creator are not liable for any damages arising from your use or inability to use the game, including but not limited to data loss, device damage, or loss of saved progress.

6. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Exported Game and destroy any copies in your possession. Sections 3, 4, and 5 survive termination.
